As Indian team has started their World Test Championship against the West Indies the former Indian Captain Sourav Ganguly wants the team India to keep Rohit Sharma as an opener in Test also. Right now for team India Mayank Agarwal and KL Rahul were seen opening the innings for India in the practice match in West Indies.

Prithvi Shaw is currently serving doping ban and the ban will be lifted in the month of November and Shikhar Dhawan is not picked for the Test squad against West Indies.

Remember Sourav Ganguly was the same person who converted Virendra Sehwag into an opener and he went on to become the most destructive opening batsman India had ever. And now with Sourav Ganguly coming for this, the Indian team management should think it upon.

Sourav Ganguly wrote in his column in Times of India, "For India the major decision is whether they want to play Rohit or Rahane. Rohit was in blistering form in the World Cup, but in Tests in South Africa and Australia, he was ‘on and off’. Rahane was not his usual self in Australia,"

He also said, "My suggestion would be to let Rohit carry on his good form from the World Cup and settle in the opener’s slot while Rahane continues his good work of lending stability to the middle-order.".

Jasprit Bumrah is back with the Indian team after the World Cup 2019 as he was given rest after the hectic schedule due to which he was not included in the T20I and ODI squad of India against West Indies. As the Test series is a part of World Test Championship team India requires the world no. 1 bowler back in his team.
