Spinoffs of "Game of Thrones" and other shows are put on hold due to a writers' strike.
An impending "Game of Thrones" prequel for Warner Bros. Discovery's Max streaming service has been put on hold as thousands of writers for films and television have been on strike for nearly a week, causing havoc throughout Hollywood. A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight's writer's room was "closed for the duration of the strike" by the Writers Guild of America (WGA), according to "Game of Thrones" author George R.R. Martin in a blog post on Monday. In 1989, Ronald D. Moore began working as a junior writer on "Star Trek: The Next Generation," and as he progressed through the ranks, he was able to create successful shows like "Battlestar Galactica" and "Outlander."

According to Moore and other writers, that path to success is difficult to find in today's Hollywood. This is one of the reasons the Writers Guild of America (WGA) announced a strike that started on May 2 and has since shut down late-night television and put the autumn TV season in jeopardy. An impending "Game of Thrones" prequel for Warner Bros. A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight's writer's room was "closed for the duration of the strike" by the Writers Guild of America (WGA), according to "Game of Thrones" author George R.R. Martin in a blog post on Monday. Hollywood companies including Netflix Inc. and Walt Disney Co. refused to agree to a new labor deal with increased compensation, and the WGA went on strike on May 2. To increase compensation, the studios claim to have made a "generous" offer.

A few TV projects and films have since followed after late-night chat shows abruptly ended. "Stranger Things" has suspended production on its concluding season on Netflix. Just before filming was to begin on the Mahershala Ali-starring Marvel feature "Blade," the project was canceled. Last month, executives at Warner Bros. praised "The Hedge Knight" as one of the most anticipated projects being developed for Max, the new name for what was formerly known as HBO Max.

The story is about a young knight and his squire and is set 100 years prior to the events of "Game of Thrones," when the Targaryen line occupies the Iron Throne. The Hedge Knight's debut date has not yet been specified by Warner Bros.

Martin stated that "House of the Dragon," a different "Game of Thrones" prequel, started filming its second season in April and would continue in Wales and London. He said that the writing and revision of all eight episodes has already been completed.

Martin also affirmed that he supported the WGA "wholly, entirely, and unequivocally." The strike's expected duration is not known. The Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP), the organization negotiating on behalf of studios, has not scheduled any further negotiations between the WGA and them.

It's possible that the AMPTP participants will change their minds tomorrow and make some significant concessions, which would allow for the resolution of the situation by next week, Martin suggested.

Beyonce performed her debut "Renaissance" concert, and when she finished, she flew off the stage on a disco horse.

At the Friends Arena in Stockholm, Sweden, the 41-year-old superstar launched her world tour and performed a record-breaking 36-song set for the 50,000 spectators. The performance was both an aural and visual extravaganza.Along with the horse, which was first featured on the album cover for "Summer Renaissance," Beyonce also utilized a pair of robotic arms, a mechanical device that served as a bull during her performance of Megan Thee Stallion's "Savage Remix," a disco ball, and UV lights that helped transform her plain-looking dress into one that was more colorful. The stage also featured a large screen with a dome-like cutout for her band and a circular extended ramp. A disco ball, a floating disco-horse, and robotic arms with UV lights were some of the other props that were deployed throughout the night to change Beyoncé's basic garment into a colorful one in an instant.

Beyonce opened the concert without an opening act by playing a number of songs she seldom performs live, such as "I Care," "Flaws and All," and "Dangerously in Love," as well as a version of Mary J. Blige's "I'm Going Down." She hasn't performed "Dangerously in Love" live since 2009 and other songs include "Flaws and All," "Dangerously in Love," and "Flaws and All."

During the futuristic "Renaissance" segment, she performed the album in its entirety as well as some of her biggest hits from her career, such as "Drunk In Love," "Formation," "Love on Top," and "Crazy In Love." She also included mash-ups and interludes of songs by a variety of other artists, such as Kendrick Lamar's "Alright," Britney Spears' "Toxic," the Jackson 5's.
