Valitar plans to impress audiences with unusual stunts and well-trained horses

Valitar has been in preparation for its world premiere for several months. Producers Mark and Tatyana Remley have partnered with director Sylvia Zerbini to create a new type of equine-human production. Valitar will feature thrill riding paired with acrobatics in what the Remley’s promise to be a “groundbreaking production.”

After months of rehearsals, Valitar is approaching its world premiere at the Del Mar Fairgrounds in San Diego. San Diego has had several horse shows come through town, but producer Mark Remley says he is confident that his show will be a memorable experience. Remley conducted talent searches all over the world to hire performers for Valitar. He was able to hire several reputable trapeze artists to perform in Valitar.

Trapeze artist Kimberley Souren and her husband Nicolas Souren left their European tour to come to San Diego for Valitar. When the Sourens arrived, they began rehearsing new types of stunts with Zerbini with the Valitar crew so that they could perform trick riding stunts with precision. Other trapeze artists came to San Diego and started a similar process, so now Valitar has a cast of over 25 trapeze artists and over 40 horses.

The Remley’s say they are excited to unveil the fruit of their labors. “I’ve been privileged to tour the world doing what I absolutely love, while working alongside the most incredible horses,” Mark Remley says. Zerbini has a long history in horse training, and she is working with the horses as well as the trapeze artists as she hopes to create a successful production.

Mark Remley has repeatedly commented on how impressed he has been with Zerbini’s work on Valitar, and he appreciates that she works hard to complete his vision. “Valitar has posed many challenges as we’ve worked to create a meaningful depiction of the powerful relationship between humanity and horses,” Remley says, “but Zerbini continues to bring innovative ideas to the table and execute them with precision.”

Valitar will have its world premiere soon, so Zerbini continues to conduct rehearsals and practice the thrill routines so that her cast can be confident each time they perform. The production will take place under a 45,000 square foot tent and Remley promises that spectators will be impressed with Valitar.
