Shamran Kurani, vice president of both Golden Donuts LLC and Kurani Global Restaurants, is pleased to announce a donation of $500 toward a local elementary school. Margaret Winn Holt Elementary School in Lawrenceville, GA is the recipient of this $500 award on behalf of Shamran Kurani and Golden Donuts LLC.

According to Shamran Kurani, the donation on behalf of Golden Donuts LLC is intended to help all members of the school community – students, faculty, and support staff alike. “It is so important to help out your local school district with a donation of any size,” notes Shamran Kurani. “These donations help pay for smaller things, like school and classroom supplies, as well as a number of other aspects of the system that basically keep the school running.”

According to Shamran Kurani, as of late, private donations are one of the main things that keep schools moving. As a matter of fact, in former years, donations raised by Parent Teacher Associations and similar organizations were used largely for extra equipment or special field trips – but now, according to Shamran Kurani, private donations help with some of the more crucial expenditures, such as keeping libraries and arts and music programs running and even preventing teachers from being laid off.

Margaret Winn Holt Elementary School will certainly be putting the donation, along with other donations that the school has received, to good use, notes a spokesperson for the school. Additionally, says Shamran Kurani, the company hopes to continue to support educational institutions in the Lawrenceville and greater Atlanta region.

Additionally, the other foodservice companies with which Shamran Kurani is involved, including Kurani Global Restaurants, are extremely involved in philanthropy. These acts take place both at home and abroad. Shamran Kurani notes that Kurani Global Restaurants has donated money to the Aga Khan Foundation, as well as the Aga Khan Partnership Walks in two different cities in the United States, ultimately raising money to help combat global poverty in the developing world. All in all, Shamran Kurani plans to continue to be involved with fundraising and charity work in both his personal and professional life.
