Kimberly Verbyla is a former teacher, mother, and freelance writer. She lives in a gluten-free household and is interested in healthy living and nutrition. She is working on a master’s degree in nutrition.

“You are what you eat.” It is something we commonly hear as children. It is meant to inspire healthier eating habits and caution society from eating unhealthy foods. Research has indicated the health benefits of a balanced diet. The issue of diet becomes even more important when health concerns are involved.

Kimberly Verbyla knows how important diet can be. She is the mother of a son who she has raised gluten-free since the age of three. As an extremely observant parent, Kimberly Verbyla has seen physical changes in her son whenever there was a breach in his strict gluten-free diet. According to Kimberly Verbyla, when her son ate something he shouldn’t have, his reactions ranged from: “Hyperactivity, diarrhea, trouble sleeping and mood swings.”

Kimberly Verbyla admits, “I have always been an extremely health conscious individual.” It was what inspired her to study nutrition now that her son is older. She enjoys eating healthy in addition to participating in other healthy habits. “I enjoy healthy cooking. I practice and believe in preventative natural health and the power of exercise,” says Kimberly Verbyla.

Kimberly Verbyla’s passion for healthy cooking is not only a benefit to herself and her son but to the children she watches as well. Kimberly Verbyla is an experienced nanny and babysitter, and cooking meals is often a part of her babysitting service. She teaches her son and her charges the benefits of healthy living.

There are many benefits to studying nutrition, and Kimberly Verbyla plans to use her degree to further her life experiences. Once Kimberly Verbyla finds a program she believes in, she plans on remaining committed to the cause. Kimberly Verbyla is eager to return to school. She completed her Bachelor of Fine Arts from State University of New York at Purchase in 1998. She then completed the Educator Professional Institute at Seminole Community College in Seminole County, Florida.

For now, Kimberly Verbyla is narrowing down nutrition programs. With a number of career experiences, she looks forward to using her degree in nutrition to take a new direction and gain new life experiences. Kimberly Verbyla hopes her degree in nutrition will benefit not only herself, but others as well.
