Julie Trimarco discusses her work with individuals with special needs.

Not many people make it their mission in life to serve those with special needs. Julie Trimarco is one of those rare individuals who encompass compassion and kindness towards people with disabilities. Since a young age, Julie Trimarco knew that she wanted to find an occupation that would allow her to serve both children and people with special needs. While in college, Julie Trimarco served as an autistic support aid. Additionally, Julie Trimarco was the vice president of the Best Buddies Chapter at Bloomsburg University. Julie Trimarco is the prime example of an individual who has fully dedicated her life to helping others.

Currently, Julie Trimarco works at the Klein Independent School District. At the school, Julie Trimarco works with over 95 special needs students of the elementary age. Julie Trimarco specializes in assistive technology and is on the early childhood evaluation team where she serves as an expert in speech evaluations for children between 3 to 5 years old. Julie Trimarco believes that her job is extremely fulfilling and she loves working with individuals who possess special needs, she stated:

I truly love my job. I get to help individuals with disabilities every day, which really makes me feel like I am making a difference. When I was growing up I always said that I wanted to find a job that was fulfilling and that would allow me to help others—I can’t believe I found it. Although I didn’t always know that I wanted to be a speech-language pathologist, it is really the perfect job for me. I have always been a strong communicator with both children and those with special needs, so I am happy I can use my talents to assist them.

Julie Trimarco has been a licensed speech-language pathologist in Texas since 2012. That same year, Julie Trimarco became American Speech-Language-Hearing Association Certified and received her Certificate of Clinical Competence. Julie Trimarco says that if you have the compassion to work with people with disabilities, do it!

“I think it is rare to meet people who desire to work with individuals with special needs. Many people view it as an intimidating job, but if you possess the natural compassion for those with special needs, then I encourage you to find a job that will allow you to do so,” Julie Trimarco stated.
