Joshua Kerrigan’s Marinas All Full

Joshua Kerrigan, the owner of Yacht Management, says all his marinas are at full capacity for the season.

It may be early in the winter boating season down in South Florida, but for Joshua Kerrigan and his company Yacht Management, things are already in full swing. After signing on six new boats at the season kickoff party, the Ft. Lauderdale boat show, Joshua Kerrigan announced recently that his company’s marinas are full to capacity for the season and cannot take on any new clients. All 250 slips in the company’s command are housing private yachts, and Joshua Kerrigan simply cannot keep up with the demand for slip space and for his company’s services.

“I cannot imagine a better problem to have,” Joshua Kerrigan was quoted as saying. “The only regret is that we have to say no to so many people, but we just don’t have the capacity to house every yacht down here… yet.”

The marinas have been booked up since September, says Joshua Kerrigan, a record not seen since the heady yachting days of 2004. Joshua Kerrigan believes this is a very promising sign for the health of the boating industry and for the overall economy’s health, as well. “I see boat ownership as a sign of a recovering economy,” Joshua Kerrigan was quoted as saying. “More boat owners making boat purchases means there is more money out there being made. Things are really looking up.”

In addition to its 250 slips, Joshua Kerrigan says, the company manages 132 boats in its fleet ranging in size from 40 feet to over 100 feet. The company’s 37 employees are working tirelessly to help ensure one of the best boating seasons on record in 2013. Joshua Kerrigan himself is also working at full throttle, although he always finds time to get out on the water himself. Already this season he has logged over 300 hours on his 31 foot Contender boat.

Joshua Kerrigan is already looking into further expansion for the 2014 boating season. “It’s never too early to start planning ahead,” he was quoted as saying. If all goes according to plan, Yacht Management will expand into two new marinas by the start of the 2014 season.
