Equuestria Development was a traveling production company. Unlike most production companies, horses were its primary attraction. Equuestria Development therefore entered into a partnership with A San Diego centered large animal care center. Equuestria Development set aside a portion of the ticket sales from their touring production Valitar to give to the best in large animal care. These funds were used specifically for horse welfare. Some of the proceeds went to the San Diego center’s equine and large animal hospital and the rest went to their Therapeutic Riding Program.

Equuestria Development promotes giving back to one’s community. To do so in the most effective way possible, Equuestria Development recommended going to the local community center. There is always information there about what a particular community needs most.

It is also important to choose an area of community service that is relevant to one’s interests. Equuestria Development understood the importance of horses to their performances, and therefore saw how important it was to do something that specifically benefitted these powerful animals. Additionally, Equuestria Development knew that most people are unaware of problems facing horses. The average person understands that cats and dogs are often without help and home and need assistance, but rarely know that horses can be in the same situation.

Equuestria Development also chose to help horses because the company was knowledgeable about how to best help horses. When choosing how to give back to the community, Equuestria Development recommends picking an area that one has some skills or knowledge in. One can do the most good there, and it also tends to hold one’s interest the most.
