Dr Charles Hodge is a regular contributor, supporter and Chief Medical Officer of vCases

Dr Charles Hodge, a long-time practicing neurosurgeon, educator and researcher at SUNY Upstate Medical University, has recently teamed up with the educational start-up company vCases, which is now working to develop an innovative new training program aimed at improving diagnostic accuracy throughout the medical community.

As Chairman of the university’s Neurosurgery Department for over 19 years, Dr Charles Hodge understands the importance of taking a careful, precise and comprehensive approach to the diagnostic process. An accurate diagnosis, as he knows, provides the physician the opportunity to deliver a more effective treatment, as well to enhance the patient’s overall experience. Both Dr Charles Hodge and vCases seek to revolutionize the way physicians and students learn how to approach patient diagnoses, leading to more accurate diagnoses, fewer patient errors, a decrease in law suits and an increase in the overall quality of care and patient satisfaction.

Dr Charles Hodge is proud to work with the vCases firm, which has participated in the Stanford Medical School Medicine X Conference. He is both optimistic and enthusiastic about the vCases program, which he believes will soon become the go-to source for diagnostic training amongst medical institutions, schools, students and practicing physicians throughout the world. Dr Charles Hodge has committed much of his time and energy into the online medical education effort, which will soon provide professionals with an opportunity to gain real experience in patient evaluation and diagnosis.

Dr Charles Hodge continues to be a creative contributor to vCases, which relies on the proven training techniques of flight simulators to connect physicians and students with real-life patient evaluations, and which places an emphasis on a more comprehensive diagnostic approach to a patient’s disease or condition. Hodge is confident that the vCases program, when fully implemented, will lead to greater reductions in patient error, which will, in turn, lead to more effective treatments and a better overall experience for both the practitioner and the patient.

The end results of this training tool, as Hodge knows, will be heightened patient satisfaction, fewer diagnostic errors, a reduction in potential patient law suits and higher-quality care for patients throughout the world.
