Darrick Addison is excited to announce that he is returning to school for a Master’s degree in Computer Science and Telecommunications. He has worked in the information technology field for over 20 years, and is ready to take the next step in his career development through pursuing higher education. Darrick Addison currently has a Bachelor's of Science in Computer Science with a minor in Mathematics, which he received from South Carolina State University in 1996. From 1998 to 1999, he completed graduate work towards a Master’s of Science in Computer Science and Telecommunications at Johns Hopkins University. Darrick Addison is ready to finish his Master’s in the same subject at Northeastern University.

Located in Boston, MA, Northeastern University is a prestigious private research university. It offers a wide range of undergraduate and graduate degrees, across 9 colleges and schools. Founded in 1898, Northeastern University is one of Boston’s oldest and most well-known schools. It has a large student body of approximately 20,000 undergraduates and graduate students combined. Northeastern University is located in the Fenway/Mission Hill area of Boston, which is one of the city’s most cultural areas. The campus is conveniently located between several museums and parks, including the Museum of Fine Arts, the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, and the Back Bay Fens public garden.

The decision on returning to school was difficult for Darrick Addison. He explains, “It was tough for me to choose schooling over work.” Darrick Addison is the owner of ASC Technologies, LLC, which is a consulting and information technology company located in Charlotte, North Carolina. Although he has chosen to pursue his Master’s degree, Darrick Addison is not abandoning his company. He jokes, “As the founder, it would take pretty significant circumstances to get rid of me.”

Despite the difficulties of pursuing a higher education degree, Darrick Addison knows it is the next step for his career development. He is particularly impressed with Northeastern University’s program, and explains, “Northeastern placed on U.S. News’ list of America’s Best Graduate Schools in 2010, so I know that this is the right choice for me and my career.”
