Nearly one million people call Austin, Texas home, and Daniel Mekhail is one such person. Daniel Mekhail has lived in Austin for the majority of his life and enjoyed every minute of it. Daniel Mekhail has traveled the country and visited numerous places, but none seem as great as Austin.

The community of Austin recently honored Daniel Mekhail with the Austin MVP Award for being an outstanding citizen. This award is given to several people each year, all of whom are extremely deserving. His work with Austin Recovery is what earned Daniel Mekhail this recognition. “I am humbled and honored to have received this award,” shared Daniel Mekhail.

Daniel Mekhail attended the University of Texas and graduated in 2011 with a Bachelor of Arts in Education. Since graduation, Daniel Mekhail has spent time on numerous ventures. The time he spent at Austin Recovery did not go unnoticed, and earned him the Austin MVP award. He has since moved on from his employment at the facility, but the community of Austin wanted to honor his past commitment to the facility.

Austin Recovery is a non-profit drug and alcohol rehabilitation center located in Austin, Texas. The center offers help for those struggling with addiction, and offers both short-term and long-term treatment options. The facility strongly depends on employees, such as Daniel Mekhail, to keep the operation running, as well as donations from generous sources. Austin Recovery has been open for nearly forty years and Daniel Mekhail is grateful for his time there.

Daniel Mekhail strongly encourages that all members of the Austin find a way to help out in their community. “There are so many people struggling in Austin. It is our job to help them get back on their feet.” To this day, Daniel Mekhail spends much of his time volunteering.

Currently, Daniel Mekhail is looking for the perfect way to blend his education with his passion for the community. He hopes to find himself in a classroom setting sometime in the future. One thing is for sure, Daniel Mekhail deserved the award that he earned and is greatly appreciated by the Austin community.
