For the last 28 years Christopher Smith of South Central has been responsible for shaping young minds and guiding children towards a better future. Recently it was announced that Christopher Smith of South Central will be retiring from the field of education and leaving his position as the superintendent of the South Central Community School district. Christopher Smith of South Central began his career as a physical education teacher in both elementary and middle schools but soon realized that his strengths were in administrative responsibilities and he was able to impact more lives outside of the classroom.

Since moving from a teaching position to an administrative position Christopher Smith of South Central has moved from assistant principal to principal to finally the superintendent of the South Central Community School District. While Christopher Smith of South Central misses teaching in the classroom he had been able to have daily interaction with the students in his district. We recently caught up with Christopher Smith of South Central and asked him about what he will miss the most during his retirement. “I know that I will miss the day-to-day interactions with the students, but they know that I am always here for them. I plan on keeping in touch with many of my former students and faculty that I have been so honored to work with the last 28 years. My heart will always be in the South Central Community School districts and I will always be a supporter of providing children with a quality education.” Christopher Smith of South Central will be missed by his former students and also by the faculty that he has grown so close to over the last 28 years. He knows that he is leaving his students in wonderful hands and he hopes that his legacy and commitment will continue to live on in his absence from the South Central Community School District.
