Over the past ten years, Austin Ragans has had a highly successful career in medical device sales. He owes much of that success to his experience at Charleston Southern University, where he received a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration in Marketing. Austin Ragans attended Charleston Southern University from 2001 to 2003, and previously attended Montgomery College from 1999 to 2001. He completed the same degree program in business administration at Montgomery College.

Although he attended a community college before enrolling at Charleston Southern University, he considers the latter to be his true alma mater. He explains, “I attended two good schools for my undergraduate career, but my best experiences were at Charleston Southern University.”

In addition to the difficult business program that he completed, Austin Ragans also participated in the football team at Charleston Southern University. He had played football in high school and was enthusiastic to continue playing through college. Part of what drew Austin Ragans to Charleston Southern University was its successful sports teams. All the teams at CSU participate in Division I of the NCAA and are members of the Big South Conference. More specifically, the football team is a part of the Division I Football Championship Subdivision. As a defensive back, Austin Ragans played in the 2001 and 2002 seasons. He thoroughly enjoyed playing for the Buccaneers, as he made many solid friendships with his teammates and contributed to the team’s ongoing success.

Austin Ragans wouldn’t change his time at Charleston Southern University for anything. It catered to all of his interests. He was able to pursue the degree that he wanted and also participated in extracurricular activities like football. His degree from CSU has enabled Austin Ragans to have a successful career in field of medical device sales. Within ten short years, he worked his way through various positions and is currently the President of Ragans Medical, Inc. Austin Ragans knows better than anyone that Charleston Southern University produces competent, successful graduates.
