Brandon Steven is a successful entrepreneur, capital investor and professional poker player whole lives in Wichita with his wife and their six children. He is the owner and co-owner of seven car dealerships in the Wichita area, owns three hockey teams who play in the ECHL, and along with his brother owns Genesis Health Club, which has 22 locations throughout Kansas and Missouri. He recently become involved in professional poker and is an up and coming pro player. In 2010, he finished in 10th place out 7,319 pro poker players from around the world at the World Series of Poker, Main Event. Needless to say, Brandon Steven has experienced a great deal of success since he graduated 20 years ago from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale with a Bachelor of Commerce degree.
Brandon Steven has not let his success change who he is, though. Throughout his career, he has used his success for philanthropic purposes in both his local community and throughout the nation. In 2007, the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society named him National Man of the Year in acknowledgment of the incredible fundraising work he did for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. He was able to raise over $179,000 for the Society.

Brandon Steven is also an annual donor to the Wichita Children’s Home. He does a lot of work with underprivileged children in his community and enjoys the opportunity to work with both children and the organization whenever he can. He enjoys challenging and motivating others around him, but the roles are reversed when working with children as they motivate and challenge him.
In 2013, Brandon Steven’s philanthropic side showed through in a random act of kindness that made local headlines. Army National Guard member Benjamin Lewis had his 1989 Suburban stolen along with all of his children’s Christmas presents, which had been in the car. Upon hearing of this incident, Brandon Steven and one of the seven car dealerships that he owns, Eddy’s Toyota, provided Lewis with a 2003 Chevy Tahoe filled with Christmas gifts for his children.
Brandon Steven’s act of kindness led Lewis to remind his kids, and everybody in the community, the true meaning of the holiday season.
“I hope they take away that Christmas isn’t all about presents, it’s about giving out to people who need help like we need help.”
