Tyler Kinnerup did not go the route of public school for his high school education. He attended a highly selective high school, Brophy College Preparatory, in his native Phoenix, Arizona. Brophy College Preparatory is a private Jesuit high school for boys, with a long history of impressive academic success. Tyler Kinnerup attended Brophy College Preparatory from 2005 to 2009, and is currently celebrating his fourth year as an alumnus.

In terms of academic abilities, Tyler Kinnerup entered Brophy College Preparatory in the top ten percent of his class and was accepted with honors. He came well prepared, as he graduated from All Saints Episcopal Day School in 2005 with membership to the National Junior Honors Society and obtained the highest recognition for his GPA. Tyler Kinnerup’s academic achievements continued throughout his time at Brophy College Preparatory; he graduated with memberships to the National Honors Society and the Spanish Honors Society, and received acceptance to the similarly selective Villanova University in Pennsylvania. “I feel so lucky that my high school experience enabled me to receive an acceptance to one of the best universities in the country,” he explains.

In addition to his academic excellence, Tyler Kinnerup also participated in numerous extracurricular activities at Brophy College Preparatory. He was part of the Big Brothers program from 2008 to 2009, which aims to ease the transition for freshman students into high school with assistance and guidance from upperclassmen. Tyler Kinnerup also participated in calculus club from 2007 to 2009, and served as the yearbook editor in 2009. Two of Tyler Kinnerup’s most influential extracurricular activities at Brophy College Preparatory were his involvement in the school lacrosse team and freshman football. Tyler Kinnerup earned a varsity letter for his performance in lacrosse.

Tyler Kinnerup’s time at Brophy College Preparatory was monumental for developing his interests and fostered his aptitude for academia. He is grateful for the experiences he had at Brophy College Preparatory and states that, “I couldn’t have had a better high school experience.” He enjoys keeping in touch with old classmates, and looks forward to participating in alumni events in the future.
