Frances L. Friedberg opened up her own matrimonial and family law practice in 2000, known as The Law Office of Frances L. Friedberg, Esq.

Frances L. Friedberg represents both adults and children in her practice. Approximately 50% of her clients are adults by whom she is privately retained. Frances L. Friedberg represents adults in both the Supreme Court and Family Court, in all aspects of matrimonial and family law, including: divorce, separation, annulment, custody, child support and enforcement, paternity, family offense, adoption, and child abuse/neglect. Frances L. Friedberg negotiates and prepares separation and other settlement agreements, as well as counseling clients through the mediation process in divorce and custody matters. Frances L. Friedberg is also fully trained to represent clients in all aspects of “collaborative divorce.”

The other 50% of Frances L. Friedberg’s clients are children that are assigned to her by the Family Court for various Family Court matters (including custody, paternity, child abuse and neglect). Frances L. Friedberg is known as an “Attorney for the Child,” previously referred to by the Courts as a “Law Guardian,” and she takes these assignments from the Court at a significantly reduced fee. Frances L. Friedberg will tell you that even though this may not be profitable, working with children brings her joy that cannot be measured with money. Additionally, Frances L. Friedberg feels very strongly about a child’s need to be heard, especially when the litigation is about them, and she is proud to be their voice.

In keeping with recent advancements in children’s law, Frances L. Friedberg has always worked to maintain a culture of dignity and respect towards children. Though this is only one component of Frances L. Friedberg’s practice, it is nonetheless essential, and a key part of who she is as a lawyer and a person. Frances L. Friedberg zealously advocates on behalf of each of her clients, whether that client is 3 or 33. Frances L. Friedberg always gives each of her clients her “all” and treats them all with patience and respect.
