David Pedro Bica is an osteopathic physician who is Board Certified in Family Medicine. David Pedro Bica also possesses a Certificate of Additional Qualification in Sports Medicine. Upon graduating from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, David Pedro Bica continued his postgraduate training and fellowship at East Carolina University Brody School of Medicine in Greenville, North Carolina. While David Pedro Bica was completing his sports medicine fellowship at East Carolina, he received his first publication by the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine. David Pedro Bica had his case study, “Adolescent Cross Country Athlete with Hip Pain” published in the 2011 AMSSM Case Study Teaching Tool.

David Pedro Bica continued to pursue publication after completing his postgraduate work. In January 2012, David Pedro Bica had his research, “Computerized Neuropsychological Testing in the Management of Sport-Related Concussion” featured in the Athletic Training & Sports Health Care bi-monthly journal. Immediately following his January publication, David Pedro Bica received an additional publication by the Clinical Journal of Sports Medicine for his work, “Relationship between Glenohumeral Internal Rotation and Medial Elbow Strain Evaluated by Musculoskeletal Ultrasound.”

Research is exceedingly important to David Pedro Bica, and he has made it an ongoing endeavor in his career. “I believe research is so important because without research, we would not have knowledge. I have always made it a goal to be a leading physician in my field, and the best way to do that is to impact the discipline with groundbreaking findings,” David Pedro Bica declared. “I have made it a goal to discover the best solutions and practices in sports medicine and obtain publication. It is really an honor to have other medical professionals studying and reviewing my work.”

David Pedro Bica consistently seeks publications because he wants his research to be exposed. David Pedro Bica believes that acquainting other physicians with his research will better equip them to treat patients everywhere. David Pedro Bica stated, “The main purpose of my research is to uncover findings in the field that are untouched. I want to help as many individuals as possible, and research publications help me obtain a larger reach.”
