Susan Kvicala is an established dance instructor, choreographer, and theater manager who formerly worked at the Georgia Dance Conservatory. With a lifelong passion for dance, Susan Kvicala was a committed instructor who offered engaging classes for a variety of age groups. Susan Kvicala taught classes in ballet, pointe, and jazz at GDC, but she also works as a middle school teacher at Griffin Middle School.

Throughout each school year, Susan Kvicala enjoys getting the opportunity to choreograph new dances for her students as well as pre-professional company dancers. Recently, Susan Kvicala choreographed a piece that was adjudicated in connection with the South Regional Ballet Association. This honor was a reflection of Susan Kvicala’s innovative choreography as well as the technical skill demonstrated by her pre-professional dancers.

Since choreographing this new work, Susan Kvicala has been enjoying more recognition as a choreographer. “Although I love getting to choreograph on my students, I never expected to receive this type of recognition,” Susan Kvicala comments. “I’m proud of my students for performing my choreography with such grace and skill. My work would never have received this kind of attention without their commitment and passion.”

As a supporter of the arts, Susan Kvicala believes that it is important to recognize the work of local artists. By attending art shows and ballets, Susan Kvicala attempts to offer support to other aspiring artists in her area. Since receiving the attention of the South Regional Ballet Association, Susan Kvicala has redoubled her efforts to draw attention to other exciting choreographers and artists in the Atlanta area. “There are many other artists in Atlanta who deserve to receive greater recognition from the artistic community,” says Susan Kvicala.

Susan Kvicala is extremely passionate about dance and other forms of creative expression, so she hopes to one day choreograph again. As an active member of her community, Susan Kvicala also looks for ways to use her skills as a dance instructor to contribute to the community. For instance, Susan Kvicala launched a dance program for underprivileged children at the Smyrna Community Center. In addition, Susan Kvicala has taught and performed at several local churches.
