Sudhir Dodda received his Masters in Computer Science from the University of South Carolina. He recently returned to the school and found that there are lots of exciting things happening. Sudhir Dodda said, “I was thoroughly impressed upon my return – they are doing some exciting things at South Carolina.”

Located in Columbia, South Carolina, the University of South Carolina enrolls a little over 30,000 students now at its Columbia campus. In all it has seven satellite campuses that make up another nearly 15,000 students. The University of South Carolina boasts competitive Division I athletic teams, top ranking research schools, and a historic campus dating back to colonial America. Sudhir Dodda said, “The campus is one of the things I love so much about South Carolina. One of my favorite things to do while I was in school here was to walk on the historic horseshoe.”

Sudhir Dodda also came back to find the athletic teams experiencing more success than they had when he was a student. South Carolina won back to back National Championships in baseball from 2010-2011. They also have a new state of the art baseball stadium named Carolina Stadium. Their football team has also been consistently ranked as one of the top programs in the country over the past three years. Sudhir Dodda said, “Being a part of big time college athletics is so much fun. It makes you feel a part of something so much bigger than yourself.”

Sudhir Dodda also discovered that the Moore School of Business would be moving into a new multi-million dollar building in the Spring of 2014. The building will have 251,891 square feet with 35 classroom buildings and 2,000 classroom seats. Sudhir Dodda remarked how exciting it was that the school was experiencing enough economic success to embark on projects like this.

As far as where Sudhir Dodda spent his time studying and passing exams, he took a stop by there as well. The Swearingen Engineering Center is still located on South Main Street, and walking through the front door brought back familiar feelings for him. Sudhir Dodda enjoyed his time back on the campus of the University of South Carolina, and was thoroughly pleased to see the progress that has been made since he earned his Masters in Computer Science.
