Stephen Taylor spent almost twenty years in the aviation industry as a pilot and business manager before he moved to Lafayette, LA to become the Director of International Operations for PHI, Inc. Taylor built on his exquisite skill as a pilot and aircraft worker by earning his MBA from Ohio State University. Taylor left PHI, Inc. in November, 2015 and is now looking for new management or business advisor roles in the local aviation industry scene.

Stephen Taylor became a pilot long before he moved to Lafayette, LA to work in a business executive role for PHI, Inc. He trained in the Marine Corps to become a pilot for eight years. After earning his commission as Second Lieutenant in the Marines in 1991, Taylor worked hard to earn his pilot’s wings. He soon earned the right to fly aircraft from the Marines before being honorably discharged in 1999. Specifically trained to fly helicopters and other aircraft, Taylor started working for Net Jets, an aviation company based in Columbus, Ohio where he went to school at Ohio State University to earn his MBA. He worked his way through business school as a pilot for Net Jets and continued to work for the company after he graduated. He eventually moved up to a management position with the company and finally emerged as the Senior Vice President of Charter and Aircraft Management in the Western United States for Executive Jet Management, an offshoot of Net Jets.

Stephen Taylor moved from Columbus to Detroit before he moved to Lafayette, LA. He became the Senior Vice President of Business Development of Pentastar Aviation. Taylor by then was known as an expert in the operation and management of 14 CFR 135 helicopters, which he learned how to fly in the Marines. His experience as the Senior Vice President of Business Development for Pentastar led him to start his own company, Privearo, which supplied clients in the aviation industry with critical regulation information and business advice.

Stephen Taylor then moved on to Lafayette, LA after he sold his company to work for PHI, Inc., the largest operator of 14 CFR 135 helicopters in the United States. After three years there, he has moved on and is looking for more opportunities in the aviation industry.
