Shane Lowney has worked for Under the Bridge Engineering for 14 years since he graduated from the Florida Institute of Technology in 2001. He was brought aboard fresh out of college because the Under the Bridge founders Dave and Marv Kokowski loved his work portfolio and his energy after a few minutes of interviewing him. Lowney found a home in which he could help local businesses by practicing the art that he had loved since high school: mechanical engineering. Over the years, Lowney has moved into a management position with the company, overseeing several teams of extremely skilled mechanical engineers and their projects. Lowney wanted to get back to his roots, so, with the Kokowski brothers’ blessing he will expand his freelancing business that he runs from his home in Tampa Bay, Florida.

Shane Lowney is still a busy manager at Under the Bridge and his duties won’t change or lessen in any way. He is convinced he can be the project manager at Under the Bridge in addition to working as a freelancer on nights and weekends. Lowney loves working on his own projects and his freelancing business allows him to do that. Business for his freelancing career was slow, and purposefully so. Lowney makes enough at Under the Bridge to provide for himself and his wife, as well as put fuel in the tank of his Cessna 182 light utility plane, which he loves to fly with his wife. Lowney is a man who loves his job, and he wanted to continue to work on his own designs for clients outside the workplace.

The Kokowski brothers knew they could count on Shane Lowney even when he told them he was starting a small freelancing operation a few years ago. They continue to be confident in Lowney’s ability to work well with clients and project teams at Under the Bridge even with the expanded work he plans on doing from his basement. They and the other managers at Under the Bridge applaud his efforts to give their community a much-needed service with his excellent mechanical engineering skills. Lowney’s wife Catherine says he couldn’t be happier and loves seeing him succeed in his mechanical engineering career.
