Shane Bohannon and Other Skiers Are Excited for the 2015 Ski Season

Winter is on the way and skiers like Shane Bohannon can't wait to hit the slopes.

The 2015/2016 ski season, also known as winter, is almost here and skiers are already getting in line to get back on the slopes. Lucky for skiers, one place is already open for business.
Colorado might be the usual hotspot for U.S. skiers, and it's where skier Shane Bohannon has done a lot of his skiing, but Vermont is the state with the slopes. As of October 19th, 2015, Killington Resort has welcomed the first American skiers of the season to its slopes.
This isn't the earliest that the resort has opened – they once had skiers on the slopes on October 1st – but it's early enough to make the people in Killington, Vermont happy. To Killington employees, any year that they get to open before Halloween is a good year for skiing.
The temperatures in Killington are now dropping below freezing on a regular basis and the staff at Killington Resort plans to have it open and catering to skiers all week long. If all goes well, this year will top last year's previous record high of 4.7 million skiers for Vermont.
Even for the skiers who won't be hitting Vermont slopes this year, news of open slopes is exciting. Texas residents like Shane Bohannon often head into Colorado for their skiing fix, so they'll have to wait a bit longer. The popular Loveland slopes of Colorado are scheduled to open sometime in October. Those who'd rather ski Colorado's Aspen highlands, though, will have to wait until December 12 for the slopes to officially open.
Exact dates for specific slopes aside, the 2015/2016 ski season has officially begun. Season passes are selling quickly and resorts are dusting off their equipment, training their employees and preparing for a rush of eager thrill-seekers all winter long.
If the 2015/2016 Farmer's Almanac can be believed, the best chance for perfect ski conditions will be later in the winter, though. The Northern states are predicted to experience a warmer-than-usual winter early on, so skiers will have to get in their fun when and where they can.
Regardless of weather predictions, ski resorts across America have their fingers crossed that the weather will work with them for yet another booming ski season. If some eager skiers just can't wait, Vermont is calling. For travelers like Shane Bohannon, this might be the year to enjoy slopes across the United States in search of the best skiing in the 2015/2016 season.
About: With the 2015 ski season nearly here and ski resorts getting ready for business, skiers like Shane Bohannon are getting restless. The first ski resort has opened its slopes are more are soon to follow.
