Scott Yandell’s Celebrates First Big IT Gig

Scott Yandell recalls his first steps to success in IT.

 
Scott Yandell is a Solutions Architect, Enterprise Architect, Togaf9 Consultant and Certified Ethical Hacker at Verizon, a job that he celebrates as he remembers all the steps he took to get there. Having spent over a decade in the company, his promotion to this position is a milestone in a career of developing outstanding IT solutions for customers as well as sculpting several game-changing concepts for the benefit of his company.

Scott Yandell first started with Verizon as a Senior Sales Engineer (IV) in April of 2000. In that position, he helped provide sales support to Corporate Account Managers while generating design and pricing solutions that integrated ATM, Frame Relay, SONET, ISDN, T-1, T-3, CENTRANET, DSL, MMDS, ACD/MIS, AIN, and Metro-Ethernet products, and all related CPE equipment. He developed and delivered presentations to targeted audiences and gained acceptance and commitments from customers at multi-million dollar annual values, while also providing technical sales support to assure successful customer integration and implementation of company products across more than 55 vendors. Furthermore, he managed all aspects of VoIP solution for a large enterprise in Indiana and functioned as a leader of a 5 person team covering sales, service and engineering. While in this position, he gained accreditations in: Certified Ethical HackerV7/V8, ITILV3 framework, TOGAF9, Cisco/Meraki CMNA, Adtran ACCP,Shoretel IP Telephony Sales Certification, EMC SE Foundations, VMware VTSP4, Cisco Wireless Design LANSpecialist [CWDLS]. Polycom and Tandberg video conferencing certifications, Avaya certifications (NCRE) and sales specialist’s certifications from Cisco / Dell / Avaya / Juniper Networks.


Then in 2006, Scott Yandell became a Senior Sales Engineer Team Leader, where he provided complex RFP pricing and configuration solution support. He also repaired the biggest and most complex solutions in the Southeast 4-state region for executive leadership as part of an elite CPE team. He specialized in developing and designing mid- to high-level ($200K-$4M+) voice, data, video, network, Internet,
and customer-premises equipment solutions, which supported an annual revenue stream of $45-$60M.

He also constantly handled a portfolio of service expansion client-focused projects and gained numerous client commendations for service excellence.

And now in his latest position, Scott Yandell can appreciate all that he gained from his first positions at Verizon.
