Sam Gray of Boulder, Colorado said that the company he helped start in the Dominican Republic, Kayak Limon, is set to expand its operations.

Sam Gray moved from Boulder, Colorado to the Dominican Republic shortly after he graduated from Colorado University. He had recently joined the Peace Corps, and he wanted to use his newly-earned Economics degree to help people in the Dominican Republic create economic opportunities for themselves. Gray and his team from the Peace Corps established a kayak tour company called Kayak Limon to help the town of Los Guineos build its own self-sustaining economy in 2013. Two years later, Gray says that the company is set to expand.

Sam Gray wanted to bring the training he received at Colorado University in Boulder, Colorado to the Dominican Republic to help as many people as he could. Gray has long been devoted to working in communities for the greater good. He has traveled extensively with his church group to Chicago and New Orleans. In Chicago, he and his group helped homeless people struggling with addiction issues and other crises. In New Orleans, he and his group helped people rebuild their homes and businesses in the wake of Hurricane Katrina.

Sam Gray also used his experience volunteering and helping his community in Boulder, Colorado when setting up Kayak Limon. He wasted no time in jumping in to establish a working business model for the fledgling company designed to tap into the booming tourism industry in the Dominican Republic. He and his team found qualified guides in some of the local fishermen who wanted to earn some extra cash by taking tourists around the lagoon to view the 63 species of birds and the picturesque Playa Limon that buttresses the lagoon.

Sam Gray says that his training in Boulder, Colorado and the tireless work of the villagers and his team has set Kayak Limon up for sustained success in the local area and beyond. Gray has ramped up advertising and has posters and other materials set up at the airport at Santo Domingo and other popular entrance areas to the beautiful tropical paradise. Gray hopes that his growing advertising budget will continue to bring tourists to share in the delights of Laguna Limon and the traditional fishing village of Los Guineos.
