Sally Doty is a senator who attended the Mississippi University for Women, where she grew as a person and professional.

Sally Doty says that her time with the University for Women was some of the most memorable ones of her life, and still stick with her today. The school offers many great programs, something better explained by their official website, which states, “Our students say there's something special about The W. You might think they're talking about our ranking among the top Southern public master's universities or our small class sizes, or our best value ranking in U.S. News & World Report and Washington Monthly. Sure those are important. But what students say gives their education that extra something, is our community - down to earth, welcoming, and intellectually curious. It's what makes them feel at home. Founded in 1884 as the first public college for women in the United States, MUW is a tradition-rich university that has been home to such noted personalities as Pulitzer Prize-winning author Eudora Welty, among others. Over 30 years ago, MUW opened its doors to men.

“Today we offer men and women a distinctive education that features: class-sizes designed to make education personal - almost 60% of our classes have fewer than 20 students; professors who are committed to mentoring students, a curriculum that stretches intellect and instills leadership, and a community that is as energetic as it is welcoming. Our four colleges feature more than 50 outstanding majors and concentrations. Outside of class, more than 75 campus organizations make campus life dynamic, interesting, and fun. We know, like our students, faculty, and staff, you'll find something to love about The W too.”

Sally Doty says that her old school also possesses an accreditation unparalleled by any other schools in the area. As their official website explains, “Mississippi University for Women is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges to award degrees at the levels of associate, baccalaureate, masters, and doctorate. Contact the Commission on Colleges at 1866 Southern Lane, Decatur, Georgia 30033-4097 or call 404-679-4500 for questions about the accreditation of Mississippi University for Women. For normal inquiries regarding Mississippi University for Women, such as admission requirements, financial aid, or academic programs, please contact MUW directly by phone at 662-329-4750 or 877-462-8439 FREE, or visit the Web site at www.muw.edu for additional information and contacts.”
