Like many small businesses, Russian Universal Services did not have a well-developed website for quite some time. They relied on word-of-mouth referrals from past clients, they advertised in local newspapers and had lots of forms for clients to fill out once they visited the office. After a few years, people started asking Russian Universal Services for their web address. They had something like a landing page developed just for information such as contact details but not much else. The small company knew it was time to upgrade their site and also knew it was going to be a very large task.

Daniel Lerman was given the task of working with the web developer on the different components of the website. Daniel did not have much experience in this area but he knew what the clients wanted to be able to see and access when they visited the site. Soon enough, Russian Universal Services had a test site showing their vast array of services with links to all the forms for their clients.

“It was so exciting to work on the site in the beginning. I was able to say things like, ‘It would be so perfect if clients could see this or that and the web developer would come back to me with an example.’ I watched it turn into something both functional and attractive. I just knew that after we launched it, our business was going to explode!” said Daniel Lerman.

Russian Universal Services definitely saw a large spike in their business that has never really gone back down. Word-of-mouth referrals are still their most effective advertising, but the website opened the floodgates for clients overseas. Russian Universal Services can refer people to their site who live anywhere, and they can research all that the company offers. The site is available in Russian as well, which is very useful for that population.

In time, Russian Universal Services plans to upgrade their site again, but for the most part, it is perfect for their business needs at the present time. They also advertise through Facebook but are always driving traffic to the site.
