Nor could he have been any more surprised to learn that an entire year had already gone by. “Time just flies, doesn’t it?” he was quoted as saying. Maybe that surprise is because Matthew Nemeth of Penn State University doesn’t look at the organization as a thing to get through for a year; rather, it has grown to become a part of his life in a way that is nearly inseparable from the man himself.

In this short year Matthew Nemeth of Penn State University’s foundation, the PSU Parkinson’s Foundation, has grown to over 35 members on campus. These members work with dedication and focus to achieve the foundation’s mission of increasing awareness of the degenerative disease, as well as raising funds for research on Parkinson’s at the Penn State University Hershey Medical Center. Matthew Nemeth of Penn State University is proud of the work that the organization has been able to accomplish thus far, and surprised and happy about the membership growth that he has seen throughout the year.

“To me, it’s so important to raise awareness and fund research for Parkinson’s disease,” Matthew Nemeth of Penn State University was quoted as saying. “It’s very meaningful that so many others are joining in this cause and working as hard as I am each day. A small group of passionate individuals is the best catalyst for improvement, and we are working day in and day out to prove it.”

Although there is currently no cure, many people are able to live normal and productive lives while battling the disease.
