Although Pastor Sun Hui East originally gained prominence as an author, she has spent the last several years developing her skills as a filmmaker through her production company, Strong Foundation Films. At Strong Foundation Films, Pastor Sun Hui East is able to create faith-based films that are consistent with her religious beliefs and serve as visual sermons. Pastor Sun Hui East has continued to write, but she has found that her faith-based films are highly effective in reaching new audiences.

Pastor Sun Hui East is currently in the process of producing her 10th film, Scarlett. Filmed in January, the movie is expected to be released later this year. Scarlett is generating interest in the movie world thanks to the involvement of actor Stephen Baldwin. “We hope that Stephen Baldwin’s participation will attract more people to this movie,” comments Pastor Sun Hui East. “We are excited for him to be a part of this film.”

In addition to Stephen Baldwin, Scarlett features Elena Witt, the daughter of Christian Latin artist, Marcos Witt. Thanks to a partnership between Marcos Witt and Strong Foundation Films, Pastor Sun Hui East was able to film part of the movie at a Marcos Witt concert that was held in Piedras Negras, Mexico in December 2013.

Pastor Sun Hui East hopes that this relationship with Marcos Witt will inspire additional projects in the future. After filming footage at his concert, Pastor Sun Hui East spent a day with Witt and his family in Houston in order to share more with him about the vision that she has for Strong Foundation Films. “Although we have no specific plans at the moment, I hope that Marcos Witt will be able to work with Strong Foundation Films on other projects in the future,” comments Pastor Sun Hui East.

As Pastor Sun Hui East continues to develop new faith-based films, she is committed to staying true to the original vision of Strong Foundation Films. The primary goal of the company is to draw people to the Lord through film, with a secondary goal of using the proceeds from the film to support needy people around the world.
