Mitchell R Sopoci’s trip around the globe in a Boeing 757 he was testing out became a milestone in the test pilot’s life as well as his career. He had always wanted to see the world, and was so thankful for the opportunity to do so by doing something that he loves: flying airplanes. His exciting trip only lasted for a week, however he made the most of each place by trading sleeping shifts with his co-pilot and managing to try out all the things he desired.

Washington D.C.
His first flight was from Reno, Nevada to the District of Columbia. He had never seen the Capital before and did a White House tour as well as the Washington Monument, Lincoln Memorial and many other places.

London
He took off from Dulles Airport the next day and landed in Heathrow in London. It was his first time overseas and he was very excited to see what life was like in another country. He enjoyed exploring London and made it out to a football match with an old college buddy who introduced him to fellow locals that he befriended.

Kazakhstan
The next two flights were long, crossing through Eastern Europe and well on through Asia. He and his co-pilot stopped for a day at an air base in Kazakhstan, where some guys at the hanger took them out for a night on the town. Mitchell R Sopoci had much more fun in Kazakhstan than he had expected, and to this day talks about some of the characters he met that night.

Tokyo
Tokyo was his last stop on the trip before returning to the United States. He managed to go indoor snowboarding, eat delicious sushi, go to a kabuki theatre and do karaoke with some locals all in 24 hours.

San Francisco
It felt good to be back in America for Mitchell R Sopoci, especially because he was in a place that was only a 5 hour drive from his hometown, yet he had never been to San Francisco. He fell in love with the area and realized more than ever that he needed to do more traveling.
