Chad Kienholz, a contractor in Minnesota, has won his first MMA fight by submission

Chad Kienholz never thought that he would be in a ring fighting MMA in a competitive capacity. However, that is exactly where Chad Kienholz has found himself after beginning his training in the sport. When Chad Kienholz began his training, he saw it as a good way to stay in shape and still be entertained. Bored of regular weight lifting, Chad Kienholz wanted something difficult that would help keep him in shape. In mixed martial arts, Chad Kienholz found a diverting and engaging option that has allowed him to get quicker and stronger without getting bored.

Chad Kienholz recently decided to take up the challenge and fight an amateur bout in a local mixed martial arts tournament. The decision came easily to Chad Kienholz, who has spent a good amount of time training for the event. “I was nervous when I stepped in the ring,” Chad Kienholz said, “ but I knew that I had trained hard and that I was prepared. All I really had to do was react when the opponent engaged in the fight and, as long as I responded properly to his moves, I was fine.”

Prior to participating in the fight, Chad Kienholz trained for months, getting himself into shape for the upcoming bout. “Training for MMA is unlike anything I have done before,” explained Chad Kienholz, “as an athlete in the past, it made sense to train consistently to prepare for a game or event. Training for a fight that you know is coming adds a level of intensity to your training that is hard to describe. The urgency of knowing a fight is coming changes your whole attitude when you come into the gym.”

Chad Kienholz ended up being more than fine, and it is clear that his hard work and intensity have paid off. His defensive strategy and grappling talent earned him a win in his first ever mixed martial arts event. After trapping the opponent in a hold, Chad Kienholz forced him to submit and the round was over. Chad Kienholz is extremely proud of his accomplishment and hopes to continue fighting at a competitive level in the future.
