Michael Wiles, born and raised in Helena, Montana, attended the prestigious Idyllwild School of Music and the Arts and completed his BFA in Acting from Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle. He attributes his success and professional satisfaction largely to the foundations he received during his schooling at this time, with supportive faculty who pushed him to new limits that he never imagined that he could have reached. After graduating, he moved to San Francisco to pursue his career in performing arts in 1999. Both his acting and musical theater shot upward as he began to serve with numerous theater companies in the area. His specialties include Shakespearean acting, and he has held a number of roles that have stretched and showcased his expertise in productions such as Othello, Romeo and Juliet, Much Ado About Nothing, King Lear, As You Like It, Julius Caesar, and more at a multitude of theaters.

Over time, Michael Wiles began to take positions as a Musical Director at venues such as the Bay Area Children’s Theater, Capital Stage Company, Berkeley Playhouse, Contra Costa Civic Theater, and more. He has also served as an accompanist at many of these venues. He is a highly sought out vocal coach, piano performer, and orchestra conductor, a true jack-of-all-trades who can fill any role with little preparation. Being able to support and mentor actors and actresses in a variety of capacities has been one of his greatest professional joys, and he currently serves as a Casting Director at a California theater company. He has shared that this position is his true dream job, an environment where he can take his mentorship to the next level with the actors and actresses that he works with. The ability to learn and grow in his craft and knowledge in so many settings with a plethora of talented colleagues has ultimately shaped and informed his incredible success in the industry.

In what little free time Michael Wiles has off of the stage, he enjoys spending time with family, going to baseball games, weightlifting, getting together with friends for a summer play at the park, traveling and cooking up new and exciting recipes.
