May is ALS awareness month, and Michael LeRoy wants to remind you to get involve and volunteer or donate today. Michael LeRoy, who is an Orlando based lawyer, has been a firm advocate for ALS for many years and recognizes the value of people helping. Even when people donate a dollar or two that is a sign that they understand what ALS is. Michael LeRoy was inspired by the story of Steve Gleason, especially after having seen his own grandfather battle and ultimately succumb to the disease.

Steve Gleason was a football player for the New Orleans Saints who retired in 2008. In 2011, Steve was diagnosed with ALS. Steve rededicated his life to the Gleason Initiative mission, and Team Gleason, which consists, among other things, of helping to provide technology, equipment and services to people with neuromuscular diseases; getting more people to talk about ALS with a goal of ending the disease; and raising awareness in the public by “providing and documenting extraordinary life adventures for individuals with muscular diseases or injuries.” -www.teamgleason.org

Steve Gleason is close to making another dream a reality. Soon there will be a house opening in New Orleans which will be built with the idea of providing properly accessible homes for people with ALS.

Michael LeRoy recognizes that many people, when diagnosed with something so debilitating as ALS, react in many different ways. Michael LeRoy also recognizes how powerful it was for the young former football player to immediately recognize the need to make a difference while he still could. As a result, Michael LeRoy makes regular donations and spends his time supporting several ALS missions.

Michael LeRoy is a founder partner of Fulmer, LeRoy and Albee, PLC and is a very successful lawyer. He specializes in the defense of transportation, personal injury, medical malpractice, and wrongful death cases. He is a graduate of University of Nebraska with his B.A. and from the Florida State University College of Law, with honors, with his Doctorate. He is the managing partner of Fulmer, LeRoy and Albee, PLC.

Michael LeRoy spends a large amount of his time in New Orleans, in Pirates Alley, where he is the president of the historic building’s Association.
