The movie follows a group of surfers who head out on a journey to search for one of the world’s last undiscovered waves. The film produced by Mark Mills of Lake Norman takes place in New Guinea. While the adventure centers around catching waves, the documentary takes a turn when the surfers discover human rights atrocities. “It was a shock to see that there are still cannibals who live on earth,” says Mark Mills of Lake Norman. “This film brings so much to life that we usually only see in fictional films.”

Isolated features footage of an ancient aboriginal culture that is plagued by heinous human rights violations. This film is guaranteed to cause international controversy. Mark Mills of Lake Norman’s film has already sparked a campaign to save lives. There is now a push by Ryan Phillippe and other celebrities to end the human rights issues and bring freedom and peace back to the people of West Papau.
“We never thought when heading out to do a documentary on surfing that we would uncover such horrible living condition,” says Mark Mills of Lake Norman. “It is a movie that you need to see to really understand the problems the people of New Guinea are facing.”

Isolated has won several awards including one for Best Film at the International Surf Film Festival d’Anglet - 10ème Edition in France.
