Doreen Duggan has always felt that it is important to be involved in the development of the next generation in every way possible. For Doreen Duggan, it is important to do more than simply dish out advice and tell the children what to do and what not to do. Frequently, Doreen Duggan finds that it is important to support the young people in their ventures and help them put on events. Because of this belief, Doreen Duggan has been nominated Chairperson of the 2009 edition of the Morristown High School Fashion Show Decoration Committee.

The fashion show that Doreen Duggan will be helping with is an opportunity for students to get up on the runway and model the latest in popular fashion, along with pieces that they designed themselves. Proceeds from the event will go toward helping the graduating class fund their end of year events, including a large dry party held on graduation night.

Doreen Duggan is passionate about the event for a few reasons. First is that the position will allow Doreen Duggan to leverage her considerable talents in interior design to help the community and the youth. “I don't believe in passing up a good opportunity,” said Doreen Duggan, “and this is the perfect chance to use my interior design talents for a good cause!” Doreen Duggan's experience with interior design should come in handy as she directs the rest of the decoration team to prepare for the event.

The second reason that Doreen Duggan is excited about the event is that it provides funds for the annual dry party, something about which Doreen Duggan is a major proponent. “I'm all for kids going out and having fun with their friends,” she explained, “but I think it is great to provide them with an option that will be fun while also being safe and legal.”

Doreen Duggan looks forward to working with the rest of the team, setting the stage and making the theme of the show come to life. The theme for the fashion show, according to Doreen Duggan, is “Hats off to the Class of 2009.”
