After ten years of making a living as a technical writer for a software company in Chicago, Laura Murphy of St. Charles, IL felt that a change was on the horizon. As a single mom of two daughters, her career as a technical writer working on manuals was lucrative and convenient. Laura maintains that this period of her life was difficult—juggling a full time job, school, and parenting was a heavy load. But it was also one of the best decisions of her life.

“I look back on that time and know that I made the right decision for myself and my family. I was ready for something new, and going back to school to achieve my goals was one of the best decisions of my life. I would advocate for anyone to make this change—a career change was one of the best things I have ever done for myself and my kids,” said Laura Murphy.
