She says that nothing is more basic than a pair of black dress pants, and that there will always be a need for black dress pants that are in good condition. They go well with so much: with cardigans, blouses, and blazers. After that a pair of Navy dress pants are good to have. They too will go well with cardigans, blouses and blazers, as do gray dress pants.

Cardigans and tanks are a virtual necessity for a business casual wardrobe. They create a neat a stylish effect when worn together. Laila Milanian believes that with so many different varieties of cardigans and tanks out there, there will always be some to fit every style, and there will always be a use for them by women trying to get in the workforce.
Laila Milanian also says it's great to have a black or gray dress skirt, and a black or Navy dress. And every basic business casual wardrobe should have several blouse options. Round the wardrobe out with a black belt and black pumps, because they'll go with just about anything. Think of your first interview. Looking the part is half the battle.
