John Church has worked with clients aiming to broker sponsorships with corporate entities for practically his entire career, with a particularly focus placed on sports organizations and clients, especially during his time at JMI. In fact, upon graduating from Arizona State University in 1990, he began his career at Phoenix Professional Baseball, which is owned by the Phoenix Firebirds, who are an AAA franchise for the San Francisco Giants.

It wasn’t long before his career progressed further, leading to his taking his first role at JMI when he became the Vice President of Sports Marketing at the company in 2001. A mere three years later, John Church JMI had become the Senior Vice President of Business Development at the company, before moving into the role of Chief Development Officer in 2005. His tenure with JMI was concluded when he became the Executive Vice President of Partnership Development in 2008, leaving the company in 2010.

During this time he gained an unparalleled understanding of what it takes to attract corporate sponsorship to a sporting entity and the things that need to be done in order to develop and maintain these partnerships in the long term.

This led to his decision to found his own company. In 2014, Church helped found South Coast Partnerships, Inc., in Laguna Beach, California and immediately got to work applying his skillset to help his clients attract interest from potential sponsors. He has been particularly successful while working with MotoAmerica, for whom he currently serves as Commercial Director.
