Jason Pendergist was appointed Chairman of the Commercial Real Estate Council for the American Bankers Association

 
Jason Pendergist has been named chairman of the Commercial Real Estate Council—American Bankers Association. Pendergist has been a leader in the banking industry for many years, working as the Managing Director of Commercial Term Lending for the Eastern Region for JP Morgan Chase. He was responsible for the implementation the company’s business model along with Profit and Loss reporting for the business. He managed over $2 billion in annual multifamily and commercial real estate originations for JP Morgan Chase. He moved on from Chase and joined Luther Burbank Savings in 2014, where he works currently as the President - Consumer & Commercial Banking.

The Commercial Real Estate Council is a part of the American Banking Association, a lobbying group that represents local bankers of all sizes of banking institutions throughout the United States. Jason Pendergist joined the Commercial Real Estate Council to represent the interests of bankers dealing in real estate financing and lending operations throughout the United States. His work as the President – Consumer & Commercial Banking for Luther Burbank Savings made him an obvious choice for Chairman of the Council because of his extensive work in property financing and development.

Jason Pendergist helps individuals finance their homes and businesses develop commercial real estate property throughout the west coast. As the Chairman of the Real Estate Council, Pendergist will represent the interests of local lenders throughout the United States. He hopes that his work will help fellow banking leaders throughout the country.

Jason Pendergist earned his MBA at the University of Colorado in Boulder. He used his degree to take a job as an accounting and litigation investigator for Tucker Allen in Denver, CO. From there, he moved on to Washington Mutual to provide a strategic review of the various commercial businesses. This role provided a springboard for Mr. Pendergist as he soon moved into a Senior Vice President and California Regional Sales Manager position for Washington Mutual; eventually moving into the Head of the Eastern Region role, based in New York City, for JP Morgan Chase. Since 2002, Pendergist has been deeply involved in the banking industry through many different positions, coast to coast.
