Although 7 flags Athletic club is closing, James Huneke offers alternatives.

James Huneke recognizes that as one of two athletic clubs in the Des Moines area, 7 Flags has been an incredible resources for adults and children of all ages. They unfortunately cannot stay open because of rising costs and the market rates from membership. Basically it means that they are not able to compete on prices so are losing enough business that they cannot stay open. Luckily they will still host events at least through the end of the summer.

Seven Flags was able to work out a deal with Aspen Athletic Clubs to help members transition over without the normal headache and with some huge perks. Of Course Seven Flags did not have to go through the trouble and expense of doing so. And Aspen Athletic did not either, especially now that they are the only private facility left in the area. Yet Aspen and Seven Flags both feel a driving urge to take care of their clients.

Serving The greater Des Moines areas for 25 years, seven flags has two separate facilities which will not be affected by the gym closure. These entertainment facilities will stay open as normal and continue to host great acts like Rob Zombie in June, and more great acts throughout the year.

James Huneke would like to remind all tennis players that the private courts at the Aspen Athletic club facilities are all equipped with great tennis facilities. In addition The city park system has an incredible assortment of tennis facilities which are open to the public. Including the McCollum-Waveland Tennis Complex which is one of the main hosts for the ”Tennis in The Parks Program” This is a neat program which happens five times over the summer and stretches 6 days over a week to 2 weeks. The city also hosts Quick Start Training session for children. Quick Start is a program developed by the Unites States Tennis association aimed at helping children learn to love the sport. It is also a way of teaching and learning tennis for children that James Huneke specializes in teaching.

James Huneke reminds us that as the city bids a find farewell to 7 Gardens Gym, please continue to utilize the city park and recreation along with Aspen Athletic club for all your tennis needs.
