Itziar Camio is nothing short of an expert when it comes to the philanthropic industry. She has dedicated her professional career to making a difference in the lives of others, and has been inspired by her adventures abroad to give back to the world and her community. She is currently serving as the Chief Financial Officer for the Tahoe Community Foundation, which is an organization that is dedicated to enriching the lives of people within their community. She has always felt like she needed to do more with her life than simply make a living, and she discovered that she had just as much to offer the world as the world had to offer her.

Itziar Camio began her career in the realm of finance and accounting. She was recruited by one of the top firms in the California area called Deloitte and Touche before she even graduated from college. She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of California at Santa Barbra in business and economics, with an emphasis in accounting. She worked as a consultant for around three years before she decided she needed to travel the world. Native to Spain, she returned to the country in order to be with her father who still lived there, and to teach students the English language. She became a Cambridge Certified English teacher and was able to get a job working for a private academy within the community. She also established a language school in a mountain community where children wouldn’t normally have access the language.

Itziar Camio’s travels abroad inspired her to become a true humanitarian. As the Chief Financial Officer for the Tahoe Truckee Community Foundation, she is responsible for the design, operation, and oversight of the financial functions of the foundation, which includes all aspects of the financial management and reporting. Not only does she have experience in the financial industry, but she also has the professional training and education necessary to achieve success within the position. She also has a Master of Arts degree in International Development, and is currently in pursuit of her Master’s degree in Business Administration as well. Her professional experience in the realm of startup companies will also play a role in her overall success with the foundation.
