Through this local gym, Dewson was able to attend eight weeks of courses and training, before taking his final exam. The courses were given through live instruction and online webinars, totaling eighty hours of hybrid test preparation.

Having grown to be an international regulator, the NASM has thousands of members, all around the world.Ian Dewson has been gainfully employed with the United Postal Service in South Florida.

While there are other venues within the United States where fitness professionals can receive certification, the NASM is the most recognized and most widely sought.
