There are hundreds of children across the United States who are looking for someone to be a mentor to them. Lauren Trotnow enjoyed her experience as a Big Sister.

“I thought being a Big Sister would be more valuable to the Little Sister than to me,” says Lauren Trotnow. Big Brothers Big Sisters has been around for more than one hundred years. It believes in giving children who face many different challenges a one-on-one relationship with an adult who will change their lives for the better. Lauren Trotnow thought this was an easy way to give to the community. She believed she would help a young girl build her self-esteem, find courage, and become confident. Lauren Trotnow did not think of how the experience would also affect her.

Lauren Trotnow is a busy woman. She runs two successful companies, Trotnow Construction, LLC and Loren Michaels Properties, LLC. On top of this, she is also a success as an Independent Presidential Director with Visalus Sciences. Visalus Sciences is the #1 health and fitness platform in the world. She did not think of how her small time commitment to her Little Sister would make a huge difference in both of their lives.

Lauren Trotnow went in with the idea of just hanging out with her Little Sister and playing games. She slowly realized how her words and actions were helping her Little Sister reach formerly impossible dreams. Her Little Sister made strong efforts at being academically successful. She learned to let go of her fears. She moved outside of her comfort zone and explored and tried new things. She told Lauren Trotnow it was because of her.

Lauren Trotnow says she applied the same principles of success to her Little Sister as those she applies to her clients at Visalus Sciences. She felt the same accountability she had to her clients to her Little Sister. Lauren Trotnow says the experience of being a Big Sister was more rewarding than she could ever have imagined. She says seeing her Little Sister succeed gave her more inspiration and motivation to continue to help others.
