For Hans Mahncke, who currently works as legal consultant based in Hong Kong, this is not the case. In 2005, Hans Mahncke had the impressive honor of being appointed to the Lion Rock Institute as an Associate Scholar.

The career update was a welcome development for Hans Mahncke, who is always in search of new ways to explore his chosen career. For example, prior to being appointed to his new position at the Lion Rock Institute, Hans Mahncke had already been applying his expertise in the law to a number of varied pursuits. At the time of his appointment, Hans Mahncke had been working as an Assistant Professor of Law at the City University of Hong Kong’s School of Law. Hans Mahncke has also shown his dedication to his line of work through editing work, including Halsbury's Laws of Hong Kong and various Hong Kong law reports. Many organizations count on Hans Mahncke’s editorial assistance. Hans Mahncke has also applied his editorial expertise elsewhere. Hans Mahncke is also an active member of the editorial board of Hong Kong Lawyer. Indeed, being appointed to his exciting new position at the Lion Rock Institute, while admittedly a thrill, was simply one new step taken in an already varied and exciting career.

But it looks like the appointment to the Lion Rock Institute may just be one of many exciting new developments to come. “I have plans to start a College of Law here in Hong Kong,” said Hans Mahncke.
