Grace Blouin Shares upcoming Literacy Volunteer opportunities in conjunction with new school year.

Grace Blouin knows that that the school year is just around the corner and understands that with the coming of the school year now is the time to find the literacy volunteer program right for you to volunteer at. Helping the San Diego with a small time commitment can make a big difference in the lives of adults and children all over the area.

Grace Blouin from San Miguel was raised knowing the value or being a volunteer and a part of her community. From receiving a certificate of service from her high school and then helping with English conversation classes in her Southeast Salem community, Grace Blouin knows the joy that you give when you are part of teaching and helping others.

Grace Blouin has continued that tradition with her important work for READ San Diego, an award-winning program. Grace Blouin knows that READ San Diego is not the only Volunteer opportunity in the area and encourages every to get out and find a volunteer opportunity that interests them. Grace Blouin is very interested in literacy and some of the many types of literacy programs in San Diego include:

• There are, of course, adult literacy programs which focus on helping adults learn to read and write so they can be more self-sufficient.
• There are also many youth and children literacy programs. The children's programs normally take place at schools and libraries. Many are doing school hours.
• There are also Classroom literacy programs which are focused on helping adults in a basic adult education class or with GED (general education Degree) classes
• Family Literacy Classes are also available. These classes work with parents of young children to help them not only with literacy but also teaching them parenting skills.
• ESL classes are also a really great way to help. ESL stands for English as a Second Language. These programs are normally with small groups of adults, which are working to improve the written and oral English abilities.

Grace Blouin knows that these are worthwhile programs and can attest to the joy you can bring someone who is learning. These classes are all designed around making the people of San Diego stronger that can help make the whole San Diego community stronger.
