The Aero Club de Panama has been around since the 1940’s and has given aviation enthusiasts like Giuseppe Pataro the opportunity to learn to fly, network with other aviation experts, see new designs in planes and learn more about aircrafts. From 1980 to 1988, Giuseppe Pataro met with the members of the Aero Club de Panama every other month to fly and learn more about aviation. These meeting have solidified Giuseppe Pataro’s love of all things related to flight.

The Aero Club de Panama is associated with the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA), and the club includes all types of aircrafts including home built aircrafts. Giuseppe Pataro enjoys being part of this member-run organization that provides its members with affordable access to aircrafts. Giuseppe Pataro has been interested in aviation since he was a child and enjoys meeting with other members of the flight community. “I have always loved flying and being part of the Aero Club de Panama. The bi-monthly meetings are a great way to connect with other people who love flying. Seeing other people build and fly home built planes is something that never gets old. I have loved every aspect of flying for as long as I can remember.”

Like many flying or aero clubs, the Aero Club de Panama also provides flight training, pilot supplies, and other services. Many clubs like the Aero Club de Panama also provide and organize social functions, such as fly-ins and fly-outs to other airports in the area. Social events like these have given Giuseppe Pataro a great opportunity to meet people who share his love of flying.

In addition to full sized planes, many aero clubs, like the Aero Club de Panama, also allow model aircraft enthusiasts to join. These models are able to be launched from the runways just like a full sized plane. In addition to homemade planes and ultralites, Giuseppe Pataro is also able to get first hand looks at new models that are being flown on experimental fuels. Giuseppe Pataro enjoys being able to interact with so many different people who are interested in aviation.
