Evelyn Ackah, Leading The Way for Young Law Professionals

Evelyn Ackah mentors young law students and is a committee member for Women Moving Women Campaign.

 
Evelyn Ackah is pioneering the way for women both in business and in immigration law. She is a very active member of her community and is known in both Ontario and Alberta for her exemplary work in community programs and initiatives. She constantly tries to improve the quality of life in her community. Because of this, she is the perfect candidate to mentor the next generation of law professionals.

Evelyn Ackah also mentors young law students in her spare time. Another cause she is passionate about is women's progress in the workplace. She's a National Committee Member, Women Moving Women campaign for the Canadian Women’s Foundation, aimed at helping to move 2,500 women out of poverty by the sponsorship of educational programming. “Many of these women don't realize that there are options for them in life,” said Evelyn Ackah. She believes that it's important for successful women to motivate and inspire those just starting out.

Evelyn Ackah is certified by the Law Society of Upper Canada (Ontario) as a Specialist in Citizenship and Immigration Law and is recognized by whose Who Legal as one of the top 30 Corporate Immigration lawyers in Canada. She was also named to Avenue Magazine’s Top 40 under 40 list for 2010. Evelyn Ackah attended Simon Fraser University where she received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and then attended the University of British Columbia where she received a law degree. She is called to the bar in both Ontario and Alberta.

Evelyn Ackah also uses her extensive knowledge to share her ideas through both presentations and public speaking. She was a key speaker at the Employment Labour Panel during the 2012 Alberta Law Conference. Companies around the country and internationally consult her and her legal team on many immigration issues that are encountered by them daily.
