Dr. Emad Aljahdli will soon complete a trial using an endoscopic needle and a brand-new endoscopic ultrasound technique designed to detect colon cancer and colon polyps better.

Emad Aljahdli is a trained and experienced gastroenterologist based in the Boston area. He completed several residencies at two of the most prestigious teaching hospitals and medical centers in the area, the country and possibly the world: Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in downtown Boston and the Lahey Hospital and Medical Center in nearby Burlington. Dr. Aljahdli has already begun contributing to the gastroenterology field by participating in trials and studies designed to improve how doctors like himself detect digestive system diseases and syndromes. He recently completed a trial involving a new endoscopic ultrasound technique using an endoscopic needle to detect warning signs of serious diseases, such as pancreatic cancer and colon cancer.

Emad Aljahdli believes that part of his duty as a doctor is to contribute to the research efforts that so many other professional medical specialists put into finding better ways to treat and diagnose patients around the world. Although he is only at the start of his career as a Gastroenterologist, he already loves to add his efforts to those working to save lives by developing better diagnostic procedures in his areas of expertise. Aljahdli hopes to improve endoscopy procedures for all patients so that their doctors can detect diseases earlier and easier, preventing further damage and worsening conditions.

Emad Aljahdli learned much about the importance of research during his time at both Beth Israel and Lahey in the Boston area. He has loved the opportunity completing his medical training in the United States has given him; to be a part of groundbreaking research so early in his career.

Dr. Emad Aljahdli decided to make the difficult journey from Saudi Arabia, his family and everything he knew to live in the United States because he wanted to take advantage of the training programs in his specific medical focus, gastroenterology. He discovered that he needed to study endoscopy as well to better help detect digestive system issues and diagnose warning signs before they become problems. After completing his Advanced Endoscopy residency at Beth Israel Deaconess, he was ready to participate in a trial that could help gastroenterologists around the world detect bowel cancer faster.
