Dr. Theodora Stolz has been practicing psychology for two-and-a-half decades.

Dr. Theodora Stolz remembers the day she got her Ph.D. like it was yesterday. She was a student at Hofstra University in 1989 who had just published her thesis, Cognitive Factors in Pathological Gambling, a work that was to be cited in studies for years to come, including one done at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas that revolved around the levels of satisfaction in gamblers and casino patrons. The idea for her thesis was inspired by her marriage at the time, where the husband suffered from a severe gambling problem. After that experience she had set out to help people like that, among others who suffer from different mental ailments.

Bohemian in nature, Dr. Theodora Stolz is the first to look for other ways in which her patients can achieve strong mental health without a reliance on doctor visits and prescription drugs. She treats her patients like her friends, and looks for ways in which they can incorporate new healthy habits into their everyday lives. She puts a heavy focus on relationships with nature and spirituality that can raise one’s well-being simply through a change of daily mindset.

Along with these techniques are other daily activities such as exercise, an appreciation for the arts and the companionship of a pet. Exercise is recommended by just about all doctors as a means of improving and maintaining good health, and Dr. Theodora Stolz believes enjoying and embracing your workouts can help encourage you to increase the length and intensity of those routines, putting you on a steady incline of exercise and happiness that will radiate through your everyday life.

Pets are also an important part of mental health because their unconditional love and affection does wonders for one’s self-esteem and happiness at home. Appreciation of the arts is also highlighted on Dr. Theodora Stolz’s remedy list because it encourages imagination and creativity that gets a different part of the brain working and increases the overall enjoyment you will get out of things.

With a reputation for giving such solid and useful advice, Dr. Theodora Stolz has maintained a reputation with her patients as a psychologist whose number one goal is to help them no longer need her, rather than keep them coming back through perpetuating problems. Her integrity and open-mindedness make her unique in her career path.

Dr. Stolz believes there is no difference in people. The only distinction is their joy. Dr. Stolz feels there are three components, the mind, bofy and soul. When they are all in sync, then we have health.
