Building on the successes of his experiences in genetic research and teaching and with his fourteen-year-old organization – HCS, and decades of education, research, and outreach, Dr. Sat Bhattacharya commenced to implement the ideas in a focused and sustained manner in India. Towards that goal, early in 2011, he founded a new organization: "Association of Science & Society" (AS&S; www.AScienceSociety.org).

Dr. Sat Bhattacharya is implementing ‘21-panel Socio-Economic-Cultural & Scientific Developmental Plan’ for West Bengal and India-wide, including: STEM Research & Training institutes for Hands-on Research for Inner city, Rural, Tribal Youth; Floating Laboratories and hospitals, Mobile Research and Medical Units; Involvement of the ancient Artisans like Kumartuli and mystic minstrels, the Bauls to propagate science; Sunderban’ Science & Environment March & Festivals; Podcast & Radio Stations; E-Journal of Science & Society; Science & Society Press; and 3D Animation Films addressing Climate Change, and evolution of numbers.

Addressing malnutrition, education, women empowerment, Dr. Sat Bhattacharya has embarked training Edible Mushroom Cultivation, to all southern districts in West Bengal, reaching over 750 villages towns and cities, training over 1,200 women and 200,000 students from 125 local high schools.

With objectives of education, creating awareness addressing important issues in a unique form of entertainment, Dr. Sat Bhattacharya is producing two 3D Animation films: One addressing Climate Change, finding solutions for creating awareness in Eco-Responsibility and Eco-friendly initiatives. The other film, addresses – the Evolution of the numbers and literacy – especially among African American and Hispanic, Native Americans.

Fostering a revolution in education, health-care, socio-economic development, for sustainable development using science and technology, Dr, Sat Bhattacharya organizes “Science & Technology Series” bringing together doctors, engineers, professors and other educators with the artisans and the mystic minstrels, the Bauls with students, farmers, and the general public, thereby uplifting the Masses using science & technology.

Identifying ‘Einsteins’ and ‘Mme Curies’ among the poorest schools, Dr. Sat Bhattacharya has been organizing STEM Talent Searches. Hundreds high school and university students from villages, small towns and Kolkata in West Bengal in India attended the events.
