David Soria MD Celebrates a Career That Saves Lives

David Soria MD has been an emergency physician for nearly two decades.

It all started back in 1993, when David Soria MD received his doctorate from the Ohio State University School of Medicine. From then on, his career in saving lives took a form of its own, branching out in ways that the young doctor, at the time, had not foreseen.

That could have been, perhaps, because he kept himself so busy in his residency following his degree that he had no time to daydream about the fame he would experience nearly two decades down the road. He performed well at Case Western Reserve University’s MetroHealth Medical Center. He eventually received the title of “Chief Resident,” and took great pride in his accomplishments without ever missing a beat on whatever his current project was.

Years later, he was hired as Associate Regional Medical Director for EmCare, Inc. where he specialized in contract startups. He was later promoted to Regional Medical Director for the Southeast region, where he provided oversight on medical affairs for EmCare contracts as well as served as Medical Director for their two key hospitals: Good Samaritan Medical Center and Saint Mary’s Hospital in West Palm Beach, Florida.

His work with EmCare caught the attention of the National Basketball Association, where he was brought on as a league physician. He continued to perform well for the NBA, and is now currently the organization’s Assistant Medical Director, in charge of a staff of physicians that include doctors who work directly with the players as well as policymakers who govern decisions that affect the actions of these doctors and therefore the health of all the players.

While still employed with the NBA, David Soria MD is also the Medical Director for the Wellington Regional Center. While both of these are high-end positions, it is his other job that truly solidifies his fame. As Health Specialist for WPTV News channel 5 and WFLX Fox News29, he now spreads his knowledge through a platform that reaches over 1 million viewers across Palm Beach County and the Treasure Coast region. He airs every Tuesday on the 8am news, as well as on the “Ask Dr. Soria” segment every Wednesday at noon.
